Mental health service searches across India have witnessed a significant year-on-year increase, according to the latest data released by Justdial Limited.
The report, which analyses mental health service searches between February 2025–January 2026 and February 2024–January 2025, highlights a steady rise in user intent to seek professional mental health support nationwide.
The findings show that searches related to counselling, therapy, and psychiatric services have grown across both metro cities and emerging urban centres, indicating a measurable shift in public behaviour toward structured mental health support.
Pan-India Growth
At the national level, searches for Counselling Services recorded the highest growth at 14% year-on-year. Psychiatric Services followed with an 8% increase, while Counselling and Therapy Centres saw a 5% rise.
The upward trend in searches reflects consistent demand for both independent practitioners and institutional mental health setups across India.

- Kolkata – 102% increase
- Delhi – 48% increase
- Lucknow – 23% increase

Kolkata registered a 102% surge in Mental Health Service Searches for Counselling and Therapy Centres, more than doubling year-on-year interest. Delhi followed with a 48% increase.

Delhi led Mental Health Service Searches for Counselling Services with a 54% rise. Mumbai and Bangalore recorded increases of 23% and 22%, respectively, while Chennai saw an 8% growth.

In the Psychiatric Services category, Mental Health Service Searches rose 31% in Delhi and 30% in Lucknow. Mumbai and Jaipur each recorded a 15% increase, while Bangalore and Chennai posted steady growth at 12% and 11%, respectively.
The overall rise in Mental Health Service Searches underscores increasing awareness and proactive engagement with professional mental health support across urban India.
